In an extremely rare rebuke of a sitting judge, Santa Clara County District Attorney Dolores Carr instructed her staff Friday to stop bringing all criminal cases before Superior Court Judge Andrea Bryan, who recently angered prosecutors by finding that a trial prosecutor, Deputy DA: Troy Benson committed numerous acts of misconduct, including giving false testimony. This is not unusual for a Santa Clara County District Attorney. We have witnessed similar “tampering of evidence” from her predecessor, former District Attorney: George Kennedy. This ugly ferocious act by DA Dolores Carr was not only an attack against Superior Court Judge: Andrea Bryan, it was an assault against the Santa Clara County Criminal Justice System which belongs to The People of Santa Clara County, not to DA Delores Carr! What Andrea Bryan did was in my opinion, extremely noble and honorable! I sincerely hope that other Santa Clara County Judges besides Andrea Bryan have the courage to take a stand against corruption and misconduct in the Santa Clara County DA's office and expose the acts of those like Deputy District Attorney: Troy Benson, DA Investigator: Detective Dennis Brookins, etc.
